This person called and had said they were calling about a job a applied for. I was confused because I had recently applied for an internship and was unsure if that is what they were referring to. The woman asked if I was able to hear her and without thinking I replied “yep.” She immediately hung up and I began to wonder if I was just scammed. I have heard of people like this trying to get the victim to say yes and then hanging up. I believe this person was trying to record my response so they can steal some of my information or make unauthorized charges.

I have been receiving a phone call form Plains, VA and normally would ignore it because they would say on their message that they are trying to delivery my pain meds and needed to talk with me. I called back and told them to take me off of their call list but continued to receive the messages and they will call at least 10 times a day so today I answered and she said her name was Melissa and we were on a recorded line and asked if I could hear her. I said yes and she hung up and that is when I called it in to the BBB. They then told me to notify the Federal Trade Commission when the Government opens back up and report it to them also. BBB said it is a scam for voice recognition.

Phone call – man with Caribbean accent said ‘hello’ – I said hello – he said ‘hello’ again, ‘can you hear me?’. I said ‘yes’ – immediately after I spoke, I remembered this was a scam I’d heard about long ago in the news. I don’t know what will happen from here on out – I will need to keep a close eye on my bank and credit card statements.

Received a call from 757-252-1448 on 7/16/18 at 11:59 am EDT. Caller said this call was being recorded for training purposes and he was James from the Mortgage Center. He asked if I could hear him and I said yes. He then hung up. It then dawned on me that he was recording me to get me to say yes and I fell for his scam. I am unsure how this will affect me and I do not know what to do next. I knew better to say yes, but I was rushing out of the door for a Dr.’s appointment.
