I received an email that Ballers was looking for an urgent casting for the hot girlfriend of a lead. They asked me to send them recent headshot/pictures or social media links. They then emailed me back few days later saying Dale Ryder, has casted me, gave me a google phone number to speak with an assistant that didn’t return my phone call. They then said I needed to send them money for a background check as well as the Taft Hartley exemption. They sounded very legitimate but at the risk of being scammed I reached out to a good friend of mine who is production assistant on Ballers, and she informed me that they had already wrapped in June. The film /production company they mentioned they were in association with was 44/45 films. They called themselves NorthCoast casting, again after doing some research I found that was not the actual production company. Please make sure you do your research because these people pray on artists like me, and know your excitement for an opportunity like that will distract you enough where you will just blindly send them your money. DO NOT FALL FOR IT ALWAYS DO YOUR RESEARCH, MAKE LOTS OF PHONE CALLS, AND ASK AROUND TO PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY BEFORE TRUSTING THE INFORMATION YOU’RE GETTING IS ACTUALLY TRUE. I hope these people get caught, they were asking for around $70.00 for payment. Just wanted to make sure noone else gets scammed.
