Type of a scam Counterfeit Product
We were interested in a car on cars.com by a private seller – VIN 1C4RJFDJ4CC206175. He posed as a Major in the military deployed to the UK. Then said we need to wire the money to this escrow company, and he’d ship the car for our inspection. I can’t find this company in BBB, addresses don’t match up, no valid reviews, etc., so I believe it’s a scam. Also, the Carfax doesn’t match the AutoCheck report for the same VIN. We are dealing with a guy named Bart Messer.
