I’ve received phone calls on my work, mobile, and parents’ phones stating I have a debt through a store and that they are trying to collect payment/settlement on it before it is turned over for prosecution. I’ve received multiple calls on each phone, each time with different amounts due, account open dates, etc. I’ve told them multiple times to mark it as a refusal to pay and have me prosecuted. They state this account is 8-12 years old, depending on who I speak with, which is passed the statute of limitations for prosecution in my state. I contacted the said original creditor and credit bureaus who state there is not, and has not been, such an account ever opened.
