I ordered a piece of electronics equipment. The website lookes very professional. I went through the shopping cart, checked out, and payed through PayPal. A few hours later I received a email message from PayPal that my item had been shipped UPS with a tracking number. I checked the tracking number which indicated the item was to be shipped to my town. The day before it was due, I checked again and the UPS website said it had been delivered.
I called UPS and they told me it had been delivered. I initiated an investigation; within a few hours UPS told me my claim was denied because their records show it processed via Amazon, and Amazon does their own investigation. UPS also told me the address it had been delivered too (not mine). I’ve since received a further email from UPS telling me they were gathering more information.
I looked for some contact info or way to dispute on the Amazon website but got nowhere.
I filed a dispute with Pay Pal, which was denied because "we received shipment tracking from the merchant confirming that the merchandise was delivered." I am now in the process of escalating from a dispute to a claim with PayPal.
