Type of a scam Government Grant
I received what seemed to be a request from my uncle asking me to refriend him on Facebook. It was a real profile photo of him.
I friended him then he used Messenger to say hello and then sent me info about money available through the Council of Development Finance Agencies. He didn’t respond to my requests about the family or to chat, only info about these supposed funds. Gave me a phone number (240-972-7563) to get the funds and said to use his name.
After saying hello – "Glad to hear from you, have you heard about the CDFA, it may help you too."
"It’s a Give back money grant offer from the Council of Development Finance Agencies to help people maintain the standard of living for both Retired, deaf, workers, widows, disable, unemployed, and old men and women. The benefit money is from the Agency’s head office to help all the people that apply for it in the community."
"I got some cash delivered to me when i applied for the CDFA and you don’t have to pay it back.. I could give you there number if you wish to apply."
"Text him with your full name that you want to apply for (240) 972-7563. Let him know I told you about it"
